In short: you can play Case One without an account. If you sign in and subscribe, we keep what we need to run your account and subscription: your Google name, email and profile photo, and your subscription status. Payments are handled by Paddle; we never see your card details. We do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
CaseFile on the web at casefile-game.web.app (the "Service") is provided by Nex Atlas Labs ("we," "us"), the data controller for the information described here. The CaseFile mobile apps have their own Privacy Policy.
We do not collect payment card details, precise location, contacts or photos, and we do not use analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking.
Purchases are processed by Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects the details needed for payment, tax and fraud prevention (such as your name, email, country, postcode and payment method) under its own Privacy Policy. Paddle tells us that a payment or subscription succeeded, renewed or ended, plus the identifiers listed above; it does not share your card details with us. Paddle may also use its Paddle Retain service to help recover failed renewal payments.
These providers process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own terms, and may process it in countries other than yours with appropriate safeguards. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The Service uses your browser's local storage for game progress and settings, and keeps you signed in. Google sign-in and the Paddle checkout set cookies that those services need to work.
We keep account, subscription and referral information while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it within 30 days, except for records we (or Paddle) must keep for tax, accounting or legal reasons. Local game data stays in your browser until you clear it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To use any of these rights, including deleting your account, email us from the address linked to your account. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), access to your account data is limited to your own signed-in account, and subscription records can only be written by our servers after a verified payment notification.
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this policy and the "Last updated" date above, and tell you in the Service before a significant change takes effect.
