Loved Photos values your privacy. We are proud to state that our application operates entirely offline, meaning none of your images, metadata, passcode data, or configurations ever leave your device.
1 Introduction
This Privacy Policy governs the use of the mobile application **Loved Photos** (referred to as "the Application" or "App"). The Application is designed to organize, sort, curate, and password-protect your favorite photos on your device. We believe that your personal memories should remain yours alone, and we have structured this App to ensure your data stays fully on your physical device.
2 Information Collection & Transmission
Zero External Storage or Processing: The Application does not contain any networking endpoints, web server integration, or diagnostic telemetry reporting mechanisms. Specifically:
- Photos & Videos: The Application never uploads your media files to any cloud server, database, or remote hosting site. All photos you review, love, skip, or group into custom collections remain in their original directories on your device.
- Collection Data & Metadata: Custom collections, albums, skips, and love lists are recorded locally inside a private SQLite database stored in the App's protected directory.
- No Account Required: You do not need to register, create an profile, or provide an email address, name, or telephone number to utilize the Application.
- No Analytics or Tracking: We do not deploy any third-party analytic software (such as Firebase Analytics, Flurry, or Mixpanel) or advertising libraries.
3 Device Permissions
To deliver its core photo sorting and curation features, the Application requests permissions to access specific system features. You maintain control over these permissions and can toggle them at any time in your device system settings:
- Photo Library / Media Storage Access: Required to query, load, display, and group photos from your device camera roll within the App UI. This access is local; your photos are never scanned or sent to external servers.
- Haptics & Vibration: Used locally to trigger subtle tactile feedback when you drag-to-select, long-press, or double-tap items to improve user navigation.
4 Secret Vault & Passcode Security
The Application includes a "Secret Vault" feature allowing you to restrict unauthorized access to specific images. Security of the Secret Vault is maintained through local mechanisms:
- Passcode (PIN): The 4-digit PIN you configure to lock your vault is hashed and saved directly inside the App's local, encrypted SQLite database. We do not keep any backup of this PIN. If you forget your PIN, the Application cannot recover it, and vault content access can only be restored by clearing App data or reinstalling the App.
- Encryption & Sandboxing: Images placed in the Secret Vault remain sandboxed inside the App's private sandbox storage, protecting them from search indexing and access by other device apps.
5 Sharing Functionality
The Application allows you to share entire photo collections or individual images via the native system share sheets. Sharing operations are explicitly initiated by you:
- When you long-press a collection to share it, the App resolves local image file references to temporary local system paths and transfers them to your OS's native sharing dialogues.
- No data is transmitted through our servers during this process. The transmission of these files is governed solely by the privacy policies of the operating system (iOS/Android) and the destination applications you choose (e.g. Messages, Mail, WhatsApp, or cloud storage).
6 Children's Privacy
Because the Application is completely offline and collects no personal data or device identification details, we do not knowingly or unknowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The App is safe for users of all ages.
7 Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. However, since the Application operates entirely offline, future updates to the policy will not change the fact that your local images, metadata, and security PINs remain local and unsaved on any cloud service.
